murfreesboro | live music | dalton gray

Dalton Gray was born in Bryan, Texas. As soon as he could talk at 2 years old, singing was clearly to be a natural piece of his future. Dalton wrote songs and scripts and was fascinated with instruments as early as 5 years old.
Dalton's family located to Austin, TX for his 8th grade year through High School. Being located in Music City, Texas proved to be a fertile ground to develop versatile skills and get a taste of music on a regular basis.

By 15, Dalton was leading church band, hosting open mic at the Legendary Hills Cafe, and sneaking backstage for the Free Texas Music Series to rub shoulders with the acts that were and are still blazing through the Texas music scene. After meeting Kevin Fowler who was at the time the highest grossing Texas touring act, Kevin took Dalton on as a ranch hand and gave him an opportunity at the big stage.

These experiences motivated the decision to pursue music full time after graduation and play every honkytonk, festival, and bar Dalton could manage to break into which include Broken Spoke, Cheatham St., Billy Bobs, Nutty Brown, Hills Cafe, Circleville Store, Cotton Club, River Road Ice House, College Station venues, Stockyards Venues, and many more in Texas. After being a regional and state finalist on Nashville Star and Texaco Country Showdown, Dalton took a job at Peterbilt Motors assembly line to begin paying for his first record. Trips to Nashville to play at the Bluebird Cafe, Cowriting, and honing his guitar craft were all ongoing as he spent 2.5 years developing the freshman sound of "Guitars and Good Times" which gave Dalton the opportunity to hit the road full time when it was completed.

The song "Knockout Girl" was his first Music Row song and the voice behind the music was given high reviews by Joe Kelley of CDX and many radio DJ's. When Dalton Located to Nashville full time, Broadway opened its arms and Tootsies, Rippy's, Honkytonk Central were a 24/7 job right away. Dalton also began writing and developing a unique sound and catalogue with prolific songwriters in Nashville as soon as he began his journey there.

Since taking on music full time in 2013, Dalton has played altogether over 1000 festivals, bars, casinos, weddings, corporate events, and clubs in TX, OK, LA, MS, AL, NC, KY, TN, OH, GA, and FL. The catalogue of songs is in the 100's and the cowriters are a very respected bunch in Nashville and Texas.

As a guitarist from the age of 13, Jay Brewer has had a musical past of playing in various bands, writing and performing soul, funk and jazz. This period allowed him to learn different musical styles, ranging from bossa nova to hip hop to flamenco. This helped broaden his knowledge of harmony, melody and rhythm for use in his own material.

His production combines this with his more recent love for electronic music, notably artists like Bonobo, Kaytranada and Sam Gellaitry. Wide sweeping synths fused with orchestral instrumentation and his soulful guitar style creates a blend of rich harmonies and delicate melodies. At the core are playful drum grooves and bass lines overlaid by intricate percussion. Merging these elements, Melliflux aims to create a deep and immersive listening experience.

mt juliet | live music | ali morgan

Teenage tunesmith, Ali Morgan, is no stranger to the stage. The North Aurora, IL native has been in the spotlight for almost half of her life. She wrote her first song in Kindergarten and hasn’t slowed down since. At the ripe age of seven she performed at the Paramount Theatre for the musical production of The King and I, which led to larger roles with the Fox Valley Repertory Theater. When she was nine her parents gave her her first guitar, a Fender Malibu Series, which sparked her love for country music.

After years of hard work and proving to her parents music is her true passion, she now calls Music City home and landed her first record deal with Nashville based label, Silverado Records, at the age of 13. Ali released her first single, “Crazy,” under the label, which has garnered 256k+ streams on Spotify. Her second single, “Firefly Curfew,” was featured on the compilation album, Summer on Repeat, and has amassed 223k+ streams on Spotify. The project includes singles from label mates David Adam Byrnes, Tyler Jordan, Crystal Yates and country music legend Joe Diffie as well as other special guest appearances. "Ali is an extraordinary young lady. She is light years ahead of most. Her journey has just started but is already showing great strides in her songs and recordings reaching a quickly growing fan base. Her passion for music shines bright and has proven that obstacles or mountains to climb are all part of the process, so instead of dwelling on there difficulty she drives right through them full speed, an ethic needed in this industry. I'm very excited to share her upcoming releases with Silverado!" - Aaron Chesling, Silverado Records

Drawing inspiration from some of country music's leading ladies like Kelsea Ballerini, Taylor Swift and songwriter Sarah Buxton, Ali puts a modern twist on her songs which creates a connection with her fans. "My fan base is growing and many of them reach out to me, I love hearing their thoughts and opinions about my music," says Ali. "I read every word and I appreciate each one of them!"

When she isn’t in the studio working on her upcoming debut EP, Ali is performing at some of Nashville’s most well known venues such as the legendary Bluebird Café, Belcourt Taps, The Country and Tavern 96. Driven by her authentic love for writing and making music, this passionate performer dreams of the day that she takes the stage to find her fans singing her own lyrics back to her. “I hope someday that my music can affect people the way music has always affected me,” said Ali. “I can’t imagine my life without it.”

“What kind of sound could fill this silence?” George Barrie sang in the midst of a  Brothers Drake concert headlined by his namesake band. It didn’t take long for the trio of players backing the singer/guitarist to craft a response, locking into a blues-rock swing awash in jazzy keyboard fills, rubbery bass and steady, rhythmic drumming.

Barrie, a longtime member of soul/funk crew MojoFlo, stepped out on his own for this EP release show (a full-length is currently in process and should see daylight sometime next year), though the quartet’s songs tended to avoid solitude, instead tracing the romantic battles between would-be and former lovers. Over the course of the evening, the frontman challenged a paramour to do their worst (“Cause your worst is still better than all the rest”), described a relationship as a trial-worthy offense (“This love’s a crime of the first degree”) and soaked up the words “I love you” like so much wine on the faith-restoring “I Believe.”

Barrie will be joining us as a solo acoustic artist, and we are thrilled to have him.

Four years.

Four original albums.

Thousands of shows around the country.

Three years after picking up a guitar in a college dorm room, Anthony Mossburg left the stability of a full-time job to chase after the only thing that made him feel alive; music.

What followed over the next four years was a series of accolades, achievements, risks, near-misses, and setbacks that indefinitely shaped him as an artist and a person. With several bootstrap tours and three independent albums under his belt, Anthony is now living in Columbus, Ohio, and is headlining shows around the country.

His breakthrough song, “Whiskey and Wine”, introduced a new sound to his avid fanbase, and shed a light into his evolution as an artist. The hard work and risks didn’t go unnoticed. Early in 2015, the song broke into the Top 10 on coveted iTunes Singer/Songwriter category.

Now, he is squaring his sights on introducing his soulful voice, gutsy lyrics, and melodic tones into a new direction that will push his creative talent like never before. This is just the beginning.

mt juliet | live music | benjamin brown

Benjamin Brown is a singer/songwriter now living in Nashville, Tennessee.
He is a self-taught guitarist who is mainly inspired by the musicians from the aspiring immersion of blues artists in the early part of the 20th Century.

Born in Chicago, his family traveled the country during his childhood, where they ultimately settled in rural areas of Northern California. At age 16, soon after Ben found his love for guitar, he suffered an accident leaving him with three quarters of a ring finger on his right hand – what he now uses for the signature beat you hear in most of his music.

When Ben began performing, he wowed audiences at local public events and assemblies. He moved to Berkeley when he was 19 where he and his brother formed a simple, yet empowering band named Devil said Maybe - with whom he performed around the Bay Area for 2 years. Since then, his music has mellowed, singing and playing as a solo artist with a smoky draw, influenced by artists in the likes of Mississippi Fred McDowell, Howlin' Wolf, Blind Willie Johnson, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, The Doors and The Rolling Stones (to name a few). His lyrics suggest a sense of salvation, as he writes about triumphing a ruthless evil. However, his seemingly melancholy sound, when listened to closely, encourages an uplifting message.

You can find this rugged bluesman, with his 1951 vintage Gibson cutaway in hand and a tattered notebook of lyrics at foot, at a plethora of venues in San Francisco and surrounding areas.

Born into a family of musicians, singers and songwriters, Charlie's unquenchable passion for great music and melodies seemed only natural.  He grew up listening to Earth Wind and Fire, Stevie Wonder, and The Doobie Brothers among others, so it’s no surprise that by the age of 6 he was singing and performing with his siblings for family and friends.  It wasn't until high school though that he really got the bug, and flourished. At 18 he picked up the guitar and hasn't looked back, playing solo gigs while working and attending school.

Recent artist influences such as Gavin DeGraw, Ed Sheeran, Andy Grammar and Eminem inspired Charlie to concentrate on songwriting, and ultimately his first EP.  His father, Bill, a producer, writer and musician who reached the billboard charts in the 80’s, produced Charlie’s 4 song self-titled debut. The sounds of the EP are a punchy combination of 2016 Pop and Soul, Hip Hop, Gospel, EDM, and Classic Singer/Songwriter.

In 2013, 2014 and 2016 Charlie was contacted by the producers of the TV show “The Voice” and invited to audition in Chicago, Dallas and Nashville.  He also recently won “Best Original Pop Song” and “Best Original Singer/Songwriter Song” in the 2016 Ohio Music Awards AND the overall Grand Prize in the Songdoor 2016 International Songwriting Competition with his original song “Change Me”.

Charlie continues to grow as a performer, and now incorporates “looping” into his live shows.  By looping he can accompany himself not only with acoustic guitar, he can also create a drum track, bass and other instruments, giving him a full band sound.

His grandpa, a hit song writer, taught him how to play the guitar and sing. Growing up he'd learn songs that interested him but never really thought about taking that to the professional level until later on.

When he graduated from The Ohio State University in 2014 and his pole vaulting career was over He had a nice inventory of country songs and decided to give playing live acoustic shows a shot.

Since then his set list has grown to over 150 songs of many genres and he has played over 300 shows. Now he plays 3-4 shows a week across the state of Ohio.

Kristen Foreman is an American Singer/Songwriter from Lafayette La.

Being from the heart of cajun country, she was exposed to a rich culture and early on in life those close to her knew she was destined for a career in the music industry. Recently, Foreman has worked on the upcoming release of her first eleven song album 'Feather Tattoo' of which she penned herself. Her album was recorded at the famous Dockside Studios in Maurice, LA and produced by Grammy winning producer, Tony Daigle. Although those around her knew that young Ms. Foreman would be musical, she didn't know for herself until she was a freshman in college. She was at a Lafayette establishment watching local singers when opportunity came knocking on her door. They asked her to sing and what happened next, some would call destiny. The crowd was small, maybe three or four patrons, but the connection was strong.

Eventually, Foreman branched out on her own and played shows around Louisiana throughout her college career.  The release of her debut album was the dawn of a new chapter for Foreman. She then began traveling as a true solo artist playing shows all over the country.

With her biggest Passion being songwriting, you can hear her influences all over her music.  From her favorite artist Lee Ann Womack, to some of her favorite songwriters Lori McKenna and Natalie Hemby, all mixed into one package called Kristen Foreman. What we have learned is Kristen Foreman is as Country as it comes, a soulful singer that you should fall in love with.

In 2009, Melissa released her debut album “Melissa Benjamin”, introducing her powerful voice to the world of bluegrass & gospel. Her single, “Crossville,” was adopted by her hometown as the official city song. She toured this album for a year and started working on new songs. With new songs came a new sound that had evolved into indie and country-soul genres. Melissa’s sophomore album, “Just Me” was released in 2011 and features two original songs, “Southern Spitfire” & “Boy Next Door.” Notably, the album showcases her musicianship on guitar & piano, as well as her distinct, powerful voice that defines her art.

Her repertoire includes several of her own songs mixed with re-imaginings of classic standards that are instantly familiar but presented in a fresh new ways.

This is just the beginning.

new albany | live music | george barrie

new albany | live music | george barrie

Barrie will be joining us as a solo acoustic artist, and we are thrilled to have him.

murfreesboro | live music | dom wier

murfreesboro | live music | dom wier

With a tip of the hat to heartland rock heroes, like Petty, Seger and Mellencamp, Dom Wier weaves a thread of roots country rock songwriting with a classic middle American touch. Originally from Southern Illinois near the banks of the Mississippi River, he cut his teeth playing guitar and singing in different bands in the St. Louis area. After a move to Nashville to pursue songwriting and immerse himself in music, he began performing as a solo artist, meshing his rock and folk influences (Carole King, Jim Croce, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Ray Charles) with those of country giants like Waylon, Willie and Johnny Cash.

Two EPs “Jaded Dreamer” and “After The Flood” were produced and recorded with Grammy winning engineer Nick Autry (Buddy Guy, Chris Young) at Sound Stage Studios in Nashville, TN. A six song EP “Born On The Mississippi”, released July 30th, 2013, was recorded over a several month period at different studios near Nashville. It features a version of “Tear Me Back Apart”, a song written by the highly respected folk rock tunesmith John Moreland.

Dom has been steadily touring since 2010, averaging 100-150 shows per year. There have been plenty of full band tours in old beat up vans and many stripped down acoustic shows all over the United States. From the dark corners of smoky backwoods bars to wineries, theaters and festival stages, the journey of this particular working musician has brought lots of miles traveled down long highways at 2am, meeting all kinds of folks from different backgrounds and sharing show bills with acts like Asleep At The Wheel, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Shooter Jennings, Blackberry Smoke, Candlebox, Foghat, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Toto among others.

After a solo hiatus and a stint in the Nashville based Americana group The Good Routes, Dom joined up with producer/friend Matthew Miller. They’ve recorded a collection of new songs for a debut full length album due out summer 2018. The first wave of these new songs came in the form of a four song EP titled “New Waters” released January 19th, 2018. These songs blend rock, country and blues textures with an honest, slightly roadworn vocal delivery. The first single “Doses” is a driving roots rocker that has helped garner the attention of national Americana and country music media outlets/publications. Dom Wier continues to roll down highways relying on perseverance and heart, writing songs and taking the hard won little victories as they come. The future is wide open. Stay tuned.
